A blog on the study of mapping processes: production, circulation, and consumption
1 June 2025: I have included almost the entire post, with few changes, in my forthcoming monograph, Comparative Map History and “the History of Cartography”, section 3. That publication is the copy of record, as it were, so I have deleted the post from this blog. For information please refer to the monograph (ordering information etc. at right).
Mapping as Process is a space for me to explore a new approach to understanding mapping and its history. The exploration will eventually contribute to a book of the same name.
